A summer cover is somewhere between a sheet and a bed cover — just what you need for hot summer nights. The summer cover was inspired by requests from customers in Texas, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, who know all about living in hot climates. It is a single layer of fabric, with linen’s characteristic cool, crisp ‘hand’. Use it instead of a sheet and slip in underneath — aaaah — bliss… Centre panel and two side panels, covered seams, three inch hems and mitered corners look neat and structured whether the bed is made or not. If I can't talk you out of a top sheet with your duvet, consider trying the more versatile Summer Cover instead.
No CalKing size. The king is large enough for a CalKing bed.

"I keep good company, entertain often, and live a simple active life with my boyfriend Paul (who looks great wrapped in my new Summer Cover); and Allen the cat who fancies linen over lace."

"Summer cover in charcoal is divine. Its the most relaxing fabric isn't it? Even my dogs are in heaven when we go to bed. We fall asleep in minutes, and never get hot. I'm Linen for Life now."
~ Nancy Bogard
"The Summer Cover in the Orkney weave is absolutely wonderful. It's been such a pleasure, especially during this heat wave we are experiencing in Southern California. Thank you Tricia, I see a duvet cover in my future!"
~ Beth Gourlay
"Being the middle of summer, I immediately purchased the summer bed set and we've been loving our summer bed linens—even in the middle of winter! The summer cover is perfect over our Pendleton wool blanket during these cooler months (we’re in southern California so it’s not too cold). Our two sons also love the linen."

"Designer Richard Ostell: "In the master bedroom, the floors are bare and the windows are simple white blackout roller blinds. The king—size summer cover in natural Orkney linen is from Rough Linen.""My approach to interiors is the same as my approach to product design; simplicity, balance, proportion. I like space and calm, even in small rooms. I prefer interiors that have a relaxed feel, spaces that look cohesive but don't look designed or 'done'; that have a feeling of restraint and quiet. Environments that have a soul and reflect the owners' personality, objects that mean something, not bought to fill a gap. When someone asks me to design their home, the collaboration is what's important. I like to find out how they live, what they need from their homes, what space and calm and simplicity mean to them."
"My bed usually has one of our white Rough Linen flat sheets on the bottom and our white or natural Rough Linen summer cover on the top- alternating as necessary."
~ Laura Klotz
"Thank you for such lovely items of quality and beauty. In the summer we use the duvet cover with nothing inside it. I lay the summer cover over the end of the bed in case we need extra warmth. I love the white against the natural Orkney."
~ Sheila O'Curran Wallin
"The summer covers are just fabulous and my favourite of all your lovely bed wear. The Orkney white and natural covers are perfect for our house with its emphasis on the natural environment, the sea and coast. I love their texture and weight. The covers work well for our region with its hot days and cooler nights. In winter I put them over duvet inners with a linen quilt coverlet on top."

"Hi Tricia, I am proud to include your gorgeous linens a one of my collection of obsessions! We have just finished building vacation home in the Columbia River Gorge of Oregon, and I was thrilled to to use a different palette of my favorite things in this home."

"Trish, you're a marvel! It's completely transformed our tired looking bed into something truly lovely. Even when it's unmade! The sheet, summer cover, and pillowcases are a joy to sleep in. I just washed them this morning but my inadequate clothesline isn't wide enough so my husband suggested we hang the cover by it's 4 corners, hammock-style and they dried perfectly without any weird creases! But here's something else...you sent the linen on the 3rd of January and I received it in Australia on the morning of the 7th. Un-bloody-believable!!!"
