A duvet cover should fit the infill snugly - up to 6" smaller all around - to ensure that it doesn't shift. I have even put a king infill into a queen cover, with cosy results. Please measure your duvet, as infill sizes are not standard.
For all custom requests please fill out the following form: Custom Duvet Cover
Material: 100% Linen. Heavyweight "Orkney"
twin 68" wide x 88"
queen 85" wide x 88"
king 106" wide x 90"
calking 106" wide x 98"
Care: Machine wash with a small amount of gentle detergent, not Tide. Tumble dry on hot or medium, and remove from the dryer while still very slightly damp so wrinkles do not set. Shake the fabric out flat and smooth it with your hands. If you can dry outside, let fresh air and sun work their magic.
I had been wanting linen sheets forever and my boyfriend decided to buy them for me for Xmas. From the moment I opened the beautiful package, I knew I was going to love them. My boyfriend then decided he needed a whole new bed and ordered his. I promptly followed up by ordering the duvet in dusk which is a perfect compliment for a chair with homemade slipcovers and my valances. A little luxury goes such a long way and makes me feel like a queen when I go to bed or just walk in the room! Thanks Rough Linen.
First off I want to say the customer service was wonderful and handled everything smoothly, however the duvet was a nightmare... I ordered the black linen and it shed like crazy and after two washes the zipper broke. I was disappointed I had to return but thankful to the customer service for helping me with the return.
The custom order form allowed me to select St. Barts fabric in white with zippers, but I was told that only Orkney came in white so that is what I ordered. The form also states that “covers are made slightly small to prevent the infills from shifting” when asking for the measurements of the duvet which I presumed to mean that they wanted the actual measurements and they would sew up a cover slightly smaller than that. While the fabric is lovely and extremely comfortable to sleep under, the covers are too big and become even baggier after the first night of use. I wish I would have taken 2.5” off of my actual measurements. Perhaps my down comforters are thinner and have less loft than others? The other thing to be aware of is all the lint. I have no choice but to use my dryer and have to remove lint from the trap at least once during drying because it gets so thick, plus it gets stuck in the zippers, making them difficult to open, even though I close them before laundering. It is nice that the zippers are invisible.
I’ve wanted to buy a linen duvet cover for years but never pulled the trigger until now. I did lots of research and settled on Rough Linen for a number of reasons: the excellent reviews, the fact that the products are made in the USA and that it’s a woman-owned business. I’m so glad I did; the duvet cover is absolutely gorgeous and very well-made. I look forward to going to bed every night and loathe leaving my bed every morning. Linen is an amazing fabric and simply heavenly to sleep in. As an added bonus, my order came with a lovely lavender sachet. Can’t beat that! I’m now saving my pennies to get some sheets and pillow cases...
