Smooth linen is used for sheets as well as other bedding items (pillowcases, duvet covers and summer covers). It also makes beautiful table linens and curtains: the finer weave has a flawless luster which sets off the more rustic feel of our heavier Orkney fabric. Our Smooth linen is woven on modern, double-wide looms for fine texture and lasting quality.
Our smooth, dense 100% Belgian linen sheeting harmonizes perfectly with the original, heavier Orkney fabric. In contrast to the 'rough' of rustic Orkney, the Smooth is tightly woven and flat. Still pleasingly weighty and of highest quality, it will lighten slightly in color and soften with age, making it only more beautiful with time.
