I love thin, sturdy linen towels because they dry quickly and rarely smell musty, since linen is inherently antimicrobial. I can't tell you the number of requests I've had for a linen bath towel, and here it is! Be warned – if you prefer soft, fluffy towels, stay away from linen. The crisp ‘hand’ of these Orkney linen towels is bracing and invigorating. An acquired taste, yes, but I love it. Your skin will feel clean, polished and wide awake: for drying your body or bundling wet hair into a turban, or as a lap-lap for a lean man, the Rough Linen bath towel.
See our Bath Sheet, if you prefer a larger wraparound towel.
Material: 100% Linen. Heavyweight "Orkney"
Dimensions: Measures 32" x 52" with a 2" hem all around, mitered corners, and a 4" loop to hang it by.
Care: Machine wash with a small amount of gentle detergent, not Tide. Tumble dry on hot or medium, and remove from the dryer while still very slightly damp so wrinkles do not set. Shake the fabric out flat and smooth it with your hands. If you can dry outside, let fresh air and sun work their magic.
I love using and looking at these off-white towels! I can't imagine ever going back to "plush" bath towels again. These dry so quickly and look so fresh and summery in our bathroom
I am very happy with this bath towel. It dries my skin well and is very soft on skin. This is very well made. I love the color too - a dusty rose. Thank you.
Switching to linen towels has been very exciting. I live in Hawaii where regular towels just smell musty as soon as you use them. My Orkney linen towels are surprisingly absorbent and dry fast despite the humidity. LOVE them! I have seen other linen towels and these are of very high quality in my opinion. You get what you pay for. Thank you.
I love the thinness of both the washcloth and towel. Makes Bath time a breeze, while polishing my skin and getting those tight little areas so dry.
I live by the beach in a small cottage and have a very small, damp, bathroom, with only one towel bar. Tired of slow drying, musty, bulky cotton towels strewn over the shower curtain rod, I decided to try one Orkney and one Waffle Bath Towel to see which one my husband and I like best. He likes the waffle since it's slightly thicker than the orkney and feels closest to a fluffy cotton towel, and I love both. I'm going to order more, but my biggest problem is I can't decide between the two types. They're very absorbent and both dry quickly, even while folded. They look beautiful and take up way less of our limited storage space when not in use. Some reviewers have mentioned that the size is too small. I compared with my average sized, run of the mill, available at any department store bath towel, and they're the same size. I'm a petite 5'3" and my husband is 6'2". The size is perfect for a bath towel.
