United States United StatesI bought two stockings in limited edition Orchid to see if I could use them as boots shoe covers. They fit over my size 5.5 women's evening boots! Even rubber soled boots usually have hard and/or sharp heels. I put plastic shower caps over all my shoe bottoms, but those protect against dirt transfer, not sharp or pointy heels.. In a snugly packed bag, regular shoe bags are (1) not protective enough; (2) take up too much space because of excess fabric in the bag design; and (3) look unattractive. I did have to scrunch up the stocking and ease it over the boot, the way you get a sock over your foot. The boots are sleek and the heels are only 2" high. If they were bulkier or had higher heels, the stockings might not have fit. I love these stockings' unorthodox usefulness. I love linen but find the fiber doesn't absorb dyes as well as almost any other fiber. The Orchid color is pretty and saturated, for linen.
