Try an Orkney linen bread bag if you don't want your precious loaf of bread kicking around in a paper or plastic wrapping, even more so if you bake your own.
I've heard claims that bread stays fresh longer in linen but mine doesn't hang around enough to find out. Two sizes, for round loaves or longer ones.
(If you are serious about keeping your bread as fresh as it possibly can be, use a three-pronged approach. Put the bread into a linen bag so the crust stays dry, then in an air-tight enclosure so it doesn’t dry out, refrigerate to preserve it.)

Dimensions:
Square: 12" x 12" for round loaves
Long: 12" x 17" rectangle for long loaves
Care: Machine wash with a small amount of gentle detergent, not Tide. Tumble dry on hot or medium, and remove from the dryer while still very slightly damp so wrinkles do not set. Shake the fabric out flat and smooth it with your hands. If you can dry outside, let fresh air and sun work their magic.

United StatesThe linen bags are really lovely quality, but they do not work at all to lengthen the shelf life of bread. I'd read this in other reviews, but went ahead and purchased them anyway, because I love the idea of a linen bread bag was determined I'd figure out how to make them work. :) They don't. Multiple efforts haven't yielded any longer preservation. So, we now have two beautiful linen bags that I have no idea what to do with.
United StatesI bought this bread bag (rectangular) several years ago. I love it, but I don't use it for bread anymore. I discovered that it is perfect for getting excess water out of lettuce. I wash my lettuce and chop it for salad. Then I put it all in the linen bag and shake gently. When I dump it out it's perfect! It was a pleasure to get rid of my plastic, space-hogging salad spinner.
CanadaI am so pleased with Orkney linen. The tea towels are amazing. I wash them by hand. The colours are fabulous. The black is dark and true black and the blue is just what I was looking for.
