I love thin, sturdy linen towels because they dry quickly and rarely smell musty, since linen is inherently antimicrobial. I can't tell you the number of requests I've had for a linen bath towel, and here it is! Be warned – if you prefer soft, fluffy towels, stay away from linen. The crisp ‘hand’ of these Orkney linen towels is bracing and invigorating. An acquired taste, yes, but I love it. Your skin will feel clean, polished and wide awake: for drying your body or bundling wet hair into a turban, or as a lap-lap for a lean man, the Rough Linen bath towel.
See our Bath Sheet, if you prefer a larger wraparound towel.
Material: 100% Linen. Heavyweight "Orkney"
Dimensions: Measures 32" x 52" with a 2" hem all around, mitered corners, and a 4" loop to hang it by.
Care: Machine wash with a small amount of gentle detergent, not Tide. Tumble dry on hot or medium, and remove from the dryer while still very slightly damp so wrinkles do not set. Shake the fabric out flat and smooth it with your hands. If you can dry outside, let fresh air and sun work their magic.
This is just what I wanted for wrapping my wet hair after a shower. It is a bit large for the purpose, so I fold it in half.
Got what we wanted in time for a Christmas gift! Good quality and good service. I ask nothing more
These towels are rough and absorbent and beautiful. I love them. They are the most absorbent of the range of colours. When you buy a new one, the colour won’t match older ones, as they gradually become a more silvery grey-beige; but again, I don’t mind as all the tones blend. I would love a cupboard full of these.
Despite what I've read in some of the reviews, these towels are the perfect size. I am 5'7", 140 pounds and they wrap around me just fine. Not that I care that much, I don't usually run around the house with a towel wrapped around me. Who has time for that! The towels are beautifully made, the charcoal color is my favorite. I love the feel of linen against my skin: warm, soft, yet invigorating, it wakes me up. I wash them in warm water and hang them to dry in the laundry room. They dry in a flash, which always surprises me because of the weight of the fabric. The price of $75 is steep, but not excessive. I am thrifty and patient and I watch for the sale. I am very happy with my Rough Linen purchase.
Excellent! This linen is just what I wanted and hoped for. I love the feel of Orkney, the looks of it, and fact that it absorbs and dries so fast--very important here in humid South. Thanks for this great product1
