These were our guidelines for making our version of the perfect robe: A flattering, smart collar which frames your face and fits to your neck. The body is modest, but not voluminous – you want to be able to get to both pockets. Length is below the knee to mid-calf depending on your height, you don't want to step on it. Drooping sleeves annoy me, so the sleeve is neatly fitted above the wrist and the cuff can be turned back. No more dipping your cuffs into the marmalade.
Material: 100% Linen. Midweight St. Barts.
Sizing:Small through Extra Large
Care: Machine wash with a small amount of gentle detergent, not Tide. Tumble dry on hot or medium, and remove from the dryer while still very slightly damp so wrinkles do not set. Shake the fabric out flat and smooth it with your hands. If you can dry outside, let fresh air and sun work their magic.
I had been eyeing a summer robe to add to my collection as my other two were not built for the humidity that is experienced around these pines. I have found this one to be quiet delightful for taking work zoom calls in the season of the Rona. The sleeves are also perfectly cut in a manner that allows you to roll cookie dough without getting it on your linen. The texture of the robe can feel intimidating at first tough but once you put it on you get it.
Perfect. Just the right weight for 3 seasons. This robe drapes and clings like raw silk with the strength of linen. Sizing is accurate and abundant. Every time I slip into this robe I feel pampered and embarrassingly indulgent. My only complaint, and it isn't really a negative, is that I did need to wash it a few times before it softened up enough for my fussy skin. And, as is the beauty of linen, every wash leaves it better than the last.
I found a review of this robe on Wirecutter but was a little hesitant because of the price. I’m glad I finally went for it, because this is the best robe I’ve ever had! I got the black version (so chic), and I used the size chart to find the right size for me (it fits perfectly). The weight is just right, too—heavy enough that I can wear it alone while stepping outside with my dog in the morning, but not so heavy that I get hot, even in the summer in Los Angeles. I just told a friend that this was my best purchase of the year, and that sums it up perfectly. Love!
It is exactly the robe I was looking for. The fit is roomy but not overwhelming. I love the linen - it breathes on a hot morning, yet is cozy on a cool morning.
